MISSION STATEMENT OF THE BETHLEHEM UMPIRES ASSOCIATION
"THE BUA IS A PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION THAT PROVIDES ITS MEMBERSHIP WITH UMPIRING OPPORTUNITIES AND IDENTIFIES THE MEMBERS RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE VARIOUS BASEBALL/SOFTBALL LEAGUES THAT IT REPRESENTS. THE BUA WILL EDUCATE ITS MEMBERS ON THE PROPER METHODS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE DUTIES REQUESTED OF BUA MEMBERS FROM THE VARIOUS LEAGUES THAT CONTRACT WITH THE BUA. THE BUA WILL POLICE ITS MEMBERS TO GUARANTEE THAT THE MISSION STATEMENT IS ADHERED TO. THROUGH THE ACTIONS OF THE BUA, MEMBERS WILL BENEFIT BY OPERATING UNDER THE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS PROCURED FROM EACH LEAGUE FOR SERVICES THAT WILL BE RENDERED. THESE BENEFITS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, PAY SCALE, PAYMENT GUARANTEES, COORDINATED SCHEDULING, GRIEVANCE SETTLEMENTS, ETC. THE BUA IS COMMITTED TO UPHOLD ALL POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES AND INTEGRITY OF THE GAME OF BASEBALL."

Price List for Patches, Numbers, BUA Shirts & Hats, etc. has been posted on the Links & Useful Information page under the Equipment section.
Food, drink, chewing of sunflower seeds, chewing tabacco, smoking and cell phones ARE NOTallowed on the field during game. Time pieces (watches) do not belong on your wrist - keep in your pocket. You can keep a small cooler with beverages off the field for a drink between innings.
